What Makes High-Frequency Tube Mills So Efficient?

The high production speed of high-frequency tube mills comes from their integration of high-frequency induction heating, continuous roll forming, and fully automated control systems, all working together to enable fast, efficient, and high-throughput welded pipe production.

1. Efficient Welding Method: High-Frequency Induction Welding

High-frequency (HF) welding uses electromagnetic induction to rapidly heat and melt the edges of the steel strip, which are then pressed together to form a weld.

The entire heating process is non-contact and completed instantly, making it significantly faster than traditional TIG (argon arc) or laser welding.

Typical welding speed: 60–120 meters per minute — or even higher in optimized setups.

2. Continuous Automatic Forming

From uncoiling, forming, welding, sizing, to cutting, the entire production process runs continuously — without frequent stops.

Most machines are equipped with auto-centering systems and quick-change tooling, which minimize downtime during size changes and greatly improve overall production efficiency.

3.High-Efficiency Cutting System

Equipped with PLC or industrial computer control systems, the line achieves synchronized speed control, tension regulation, and real-time error correction. The automatic flying saw enables non-stop cutting, significantly reducing manual intervention and improving overall efficiency.
