The machine used for making steel pipes is commonly referred to as tube or pipe mill, tube or pipe making machine, tube or pipe forming machine, tube or pipe manufacturing machine, tube or pipe production machine. This machinery is designed to produce steel pipes and tubes through a series of forming, welding, sizing, and finishing processes.

Here is a overview of the process and the tube mill machines involved in making steel pipes:

Pipe Mill Process

1.Uncoiling:

Steel coils are uncoiled and fed into the pipe production line. The uncoiler machine holds and unwinds the steel strip, preparing it for the next stages.

2.Shearing and End Welding:

The strip may be sheared to the required width and then welded end-to-end if continuous production is needed. This step ensures a continuous feed of material into the accumulator.

3.Accumulator

It is used to store steel strips to ensure continuous production without interruption and the high efficiency production.

2.Leveling and Flattening:

The steel strip is passed through a leveling machine to flatten it and remove any coil set or curvature. This ensures that the strip is flat and smooth for the forming process.

4.Forming:

The steel strip is gradually formed into a tubular shape through a series of forming rolls. This is done in stages to avoid excessive stress and ensure a smooth transition from flat strip to round tube.

5.Welding:

The edges of the formed tube are welded together to create a continuous seam.

6.External burr removing:

Burrs are unwanted protrusions or rough edges that form along the edges of the pipe,These burrs need to be removed to ensure the smooth surface.

7.Sizing and Straightening:

The welded tube passes through a sizing mill where it is brought to its final dimensions and straightened. This is done using a series of rolls that apply pressure to ensure the tube is round and straight.

8.Cutting:

The continuous tube is cut to the desired lengths using flying saws or cut off machines. These cut off machines can cut the tube without stopping the pipe production line, maintaining high efficiency.

9.Packaging and Shipping:

The finished pipes are bundled, packaged, and prepared for shipping to customers.

By using these pipe making machines and following the outlined processes, steel pipes of various sizes and specifications can be efficiently produced to meet the needs of different industrial applications.
